Charley & Henry - The Sunshine Tour
This week we caught up with our Brand Ambassador, Charley, who gave us an insight into her preparation for her debut appearance at Hickstead's Sunshine Tour next week. Charley has been making great use of her Hi Vis Lanacre Coat recently, make sure you head over to her page to see what she gets up to on a daily basis.
👋Hi my name is Charley from @charleyequestrian_ and this is my horse Henry, a 9 year old Welsh Cob Cross. We are off to Hickstead on Wednesday 14th September for our first stay away show and we have qualified for three Sunshine Tour finals 😎
To qualify you must attend a qualifying show and place 1st to 4th in your class. Henry and I qualified at Littlebourne Farm Equestrian Centre in April in the 60cms Show Jumping, the Family Horse & Pony in 1st place and also the Best Rider in 1st place!
This means we have one class per day at Hickstead 👀
On Thursday we will be jumping the 60cms Senior class, on Friday we will be jumping the 60cms Open class, on Saturday we will be showing in the Family Horse & Pony and on Sunday we will be showing in the Best Rider class.
During the lead up to Hickstead we have had a variety of lessons with my coach Ben Mitchell-Winter, including jumping lessons around a full course, working over single fences and also flatwork lessons. Luckily I have had my Ri-Dry coat to keep my dry in the pouring rain over the last week or so.
I am both very nervous and excited to be going and doing something new. All I’m really hoping is that Henry will behave and we can come away happy with our performance.
If you are down at Hickstead and happen to spot us, make sure to come say Hi... we would love to meet you ❤️
A big thank you to the Ri-Dry team for all your support 🥰
